The increasing immigration, mostly from Muslims countries, gradually has made the Islam the second biggest religion in Denmark with app. 3, 3 % Muslims Even though Denmark is a country l with state religion, the religion plays a smaller and smaller role in society and there is only one single small political party in Denmark, the Christian Democrats, who openly profess a religion.
In the past years there has been a increasing interest for religion, especially due to the growing more religious Muslim minority. Other religions, Catholicism, Buddhism only play a marginal role.
The distribution of the religions in the population: Lutherans 83%, Islam app. 3,3%, Catholicism 0,6% others or not informed 13,1%.
